Are you dreaming of Hawaii? Possibly a dream of spending time relaxing
in the sun on a beach or visiting an active volcano?
If you can't visit or live here, this site may help you remember your trip here, or prepare you for a future trip to the islands. This web site will be providing information about Hawaii and the activities we enjoy here, along with products made by local artists and craftsmen that can help you get in the mood for a visit here, or remember one when you are back home. As with most web sites, this one is continually changing as we add new features, so check back often. New! Visit our Woodworking Pages! We are beginning to feature some of Hawaii's woodworkers. We have a new section about the Big Island Woodturners, an association of artists on the Big Island of Hawaii. From the main page, you can also link to the galleries of some of the members, and to some other wood related sites. We also have a gallery of objects created by Rick Frazier. Rick produces mostly turned objects like bowls and vases, but also creates fine furniture and other objects on commision. If you see an item you like, or wish to commission an object, send us email and we'll forward it to Rick, or you can contact Rick directly. Don't forget to say you saw his work on the Dreaming of Hawaii web site. Check back to see his new Sprit Vessels. These vessels are made in concert with the energy of the wood, and are perfect for storing your personal, spiritual, or ritual objects when you aren't using them. Each Spirit Vessel is unique, and most are made from woods growing on the Island of Hawaii. Coming Soon - PlayShops on the Island of Hawaii!Unlike a workshop or seminar, where participants typically listen to a lecture or watch a demonstration. In a PlayShop, you slow down and relax a bit, connect with spirit and create something you can use to help you in your daily life. You may even learn a new technique or craft.Symbols are powerful elements of our lives. Participate in a PlayShop where you create a small set of Petroglyph Tiles using your own symbols. This PlayShop allows participants to connect with spirit to see and create their own symbols, then put them on a set of tiles they take home with them. These tiles can be used much like Tarot cards or Runes to help as a guide or to begin a daily meditation. Almost everyone wears a T-Shirt at one time or another. After a brief guided meditation, you will learn a method for printing your own symbols or simple design on a T-Shirt that you take home with you the same day. These and other PlayShops are being developed and scheduled. Please check back to see the schedule of PlayShops on the Big Island! Need Time Away? Attend a Retreat on the Big Island. We are developing retreats for individuals and small groups on the Big Island of Hawaii. Relax and unwind from the stresses of your daily life in a lovely setting away from the daily grind. Visit natural wonders such as waterfalls, botanical gardens, or a live volcano. Rest and recharge, and reconnect with spirit or your inner self on the Healing Island. We'll post additional details and some pictures as the schedule is developed. Like many sites, this one will be continually under construction. Please visit often to see what's new! Please take a little time to look around, and if you like the site, tell your friends. If you don't like the site, or something about some content on the site, please tell us . Thank you for your interest. |
